About Callum

Callum was born in Leeds and studied at Abbey Grange Academy. He is the Organ Scholar at Leeds Cathedral and accompanist for Leeds Vocal Movement.

Pianist and Organist

Callum is an experienced pianist and organist, regularly performing across West Yorkshire and further afield. As the Organ Scholar at Leeds Cathedral he plays for weekly liturgies along with weddings, funerals and other services on occasion.

Growing up with music provided Callum with a rewarding experience. He now provides opportunities for all to experience the joys of music, with emphasis on inspiring the next generation of music makers.

Writing regularly for choir, Callum has gained a wealth of compositional knowledge and his works possess a ‘unique perspective on techniques of the past’. His choral music enjoys regular performance by the highly acclaimed Deerbolt Singers.

Callum is often engaged in research about the benefits of music, and has written about the benefits of choral music, most recently in Church Music Quarterly. He has a passion for reviving forgotten masterpieces from across the centuries.
